Carsulae
Located at 3 miles from the charming Medieval village of San Gemini, this Archaeological park features several ruins of a Roman town along the ancient Flaminia road, which crossed Umbria linking the capital with Rimini, along the Adriatic Sea.
The stone blocks paving the original road, opened in 3rd century a.C., have been brought to light, as well as the remains of the roman Theatre and Amphitheatre and of other civil and religious buildings.
Immersed in the scenery of Umbrian countryside, Carsulae with its enchanting atmosphere is one of the places off-the-beaten-paths not to be missed.
