Umbria is a region of genuine agriculture and food products. The Slow Food movement for the preservation of genuine food specialties has identified several "presidia" protecting and promoting unique types of ingredients. Special events are dedicated to local wines and olive oil. During the Cantine Aperte and Frantoi Aperti weekends, Umbrian wineries and oil mills are open to visitors for guided tours and products tastings. Other fairs are dedicated to gourmet specialties such as the Truffle Fairs in Valtopina, Norcia and Gubbio, the ‘Porchetta' roasted suckling pig festival in various villages, the Onion festival in Cannara, the Black Celery feast in Trevi, the Saffron festival in Città della Pieve and many others.
