DERUTA and PICNIC AT THE WINERY: ceramic modelling and wine tasting

Half day activity with tasting. 

The tour will start with a visit of Deruta, the capital of ceramic production in Umbria. This traditional activity developed here since early medieval times thanks to the abundance of clay, but it was boosted in during renaissance when local artisans developed their own style inspired by Raphael's grotesque decoration.

There will be the chance to visit a traditional workshop where an artisan will show all the phases of the production: modelling of clay, firing process and hand-painted decoration. 

Will then proceed to a winery in the surroundings of the charming town of Todi for a visit featuring a picnic light lunch with
wine tasting.
